Underappreciated.
JT: Kent, we think of mechanical things as “working”. But we don’t think of a roof as something that “works”
Kent: It just kinda sits there doesn’t it, JT. Inactive…
JT: It’s very, very active. The sun beats down on it, rain attacks it, it’s out in the cold.
Kent: [realizing] A roof actively protects.
JT: Your roof is under frickin’ assault! All day…
Kent: Every day…
JT: All day long.
Kent: A roof can never take a day off, and it can never quit because…
JT: Now you’ve got a leak.
Kent: If you went outside in a complete downpour, do you look up and let the rain pound on your face?
JT: NO! You run and find shelter.
Kent: A roof has no shelter.
JT: IT IS THE SHELTER
Kent: And it gets no respect for what it does! You only notice it when it fails.
JT: You step inside on a hot day and go “oh that air conditioning is so nice”.
Kent: Nobody steps inside on a rainy day and says “oh it’s so nice and dry in here, boy I love our roof.”
JT: A working roof is underappreciated.
Jingle: ***Maven Roof dot com, No Quit***
Kent: JT, I’m starting to relate to these roofs. And you’re like the flashy air conditioner.
JT: Yeah, but an air conditioner with nooooooo quit.
