Spring Cleaning Tips!

Spring is a time for rebirth and renewal. A time to cleanse your home of the dust and dirt of winter, and make way for new life. Here are some tips to help you get started on your spring cleaning!

  • Create a To-Do list - This will help you stay organized and on task

  • Clean room by room - Take on one room at a time

  • Organize and clear the clutter - Purge clothes you haven’t worn in months

  • Get the household involved - Have the littles choose toys and books they no longer play with to donate to a women's shelter or children's hospital; Get hubby to organize the garage and/or shed

  • Tackle the seasonal chores like cleaning roof, gutters and windows, trimming plants for regrowth, picking up sticks or the dreaded dog mess in the backyard

  • Neglecting to clean your roof can lead to serious damage, such as leaks and rotting. To clean your roof, you'll need a ladder, a brush, and a hose. First, use the brush to remove any dirt or debris from the surface of the roof. Then, wet down the roof with the hose, and scrub it with the brush to remove any remaining dirt. Finally, rinse off the soap with the hose and allow the roof to air dry.

  • Clogged gutters can cause water to back up and overflow, which can lead to serious damage to your home's foundation. To clean your gutters, use a ladder to reach the top, and then use a hose to flush them out. Be sure to check for any leaks or damage while you're up there.

  • Finally, don't forget to clean your windows! Window cleaning can be a tricky job, but it's important to get the job done right. Start by using a squeegee to clean the window from top to bottom. Then, use a window cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the window frame and sill. Finally, use a toothbrush to clean around the edges of the window. Be sure to rinse off all of the cleaning solution with water before drying off the windows.

  • Keep your cleaning products to a minimum - less is best and won’t overwhelm you with which products to use where

  • Establish new cleaning habits or a schedule to follow to maintain cleanliness during all the seasons

  • Have your roof and exterior inspected before storm season

By following these simple tips, you can spring clean your home quickly and easily. Spring cleaning is a great way to reduce long-term maintenance costs, improve your family's health, and increase your home's value. So don't wait - get started today!
